YeYoung Qi Gong

YeYoung Qi Gong is a meditative practice, a practice of Neidan (inner alchemy). It is based on Taoism (Daoism) and consists of daily practice of meditation; there is limited movement involving postures, unlike tai chi or yoga.

YeYoung Qi Gong focuses on enhancing health and longevity by optimizing the circulation of qi. Cultivating qi can improve a person’s health and harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.

There are no books or DVDs for YeYoung Qi Gong. The tradition is only transmitted from master to student, and YeYoung Qi Gong uses the time-honored, proven approach of preparing the student gradually. To advance, the student must practice diligently; no one can do the work for the student. Practice awakens qi, and as a student learns how to control its flow and distribution, the student can build an internal reservoir of qi.

Traditional Chinese teachings are lineage-based. YeYoung Qi Gong Tradition was established by the Prince of Ning (1378-1448), the 17th son of the founder and the first emperor of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), and is based on the Southern Neidan School that was founded by the Southern Patriarch Zhang Boduan (984-1028). The current tradition-holder is Grand Master B.F. YeYoung, the 18th patriarch, who is now based in Sacramento. David Azevedo has been certified as a Master by Grand Master B.F. YeYoung.
